diagram: ‘unprofessional’ – depressing microwaved dinner

As soon as I got the brief and saw we were doing a “lonely dude eats microwave dinner alone at kitchen table” scene, I knew the perfect light for the job.

summary

An Intellytech Mega-8 boomed in over the table did exactly what I knew it would do:

– large enough to simulate a soft chandelier
– warm enough CCT-wise to act as an incandescent
– maneuverable so I can reduce racoon eye and avoid the existing chandelier
– controllable with the grid on it to reduce spill on the side walls

3x Aputure MC Pros play in the kitchen area, one taped to the ceiling, one on the wall behind talent, and one off camera left. A final one plays in the living room, giving motivation for the next scene to happen.

Lastly, a Kelvin EPOS 300 is fired through the window behind talent, simulating a moon beam and giving some nice complementary tones to the frame.
