diagram: ‘margarita werewolf’ – cozy evening bedroom
Life reached an all-time high last week at NAB for me. It was incredibly fulfilling to get connected to a wider network of film nerds who geek out about lighting as much as I do. But as fun as it was, gotta pay the bills somehow, so I’m back on set again!
summary
A Litepanels Gemini 1×1 hard lived outside the room, helping to brighten up the foreground and act as our “hallway light spilling into the room”.
An Aputure Infinibar PB6 with softbox & grid served as the key off camera left and helped give shape to our subjects face.
A second PB6 was off camera right and dialed in to match the coloration of the moon rock. This bar was used to give the rock some more oomph on the scene because the rock itself didn’t have enough output to throw light onto the bed.
A couple Aputure MT Pros live in this scene, one hides behind the lava lamp to increase the output of that, and the other lifts up the foreground shadows on the left side doorway.
Lastly, some incandescent bulbs on dimmers sit in the back of the room, helping to give shape and texture to the scene.
