Do you have a favorite light in your kit?

summary

I thought mine would be the @aputure.lighting 600d, but as I continue to be on sets I think my favorite light is becoming the 60d with the spotlight mount.

Being able to use that projection lens to throw gobo patterns adds that little extra panache to each image that keeps it from feeling too sterile, while also having an incredible amount of control for such a tiny fixture.

For this setup the 600d was used as a key light with the giant 5′ softbox and grid. A 300d paired with a 60×90 softbox was boomed in as a hair light using a baby boom on a combo stand (photo 2, top frame).

The rear window was blocked off using 2 sheets of duvetyne, which increased the mood of the background and allowed the 60d & spotlight mount to come out to play with that venetian pattern.

Finally, a tube and a mini-LED help to highlight some product on tables behind the subject!
