diagram: camp bow wow – dogs on set!

Had a blast shooting this commercial for Camp Bow Wow with Just Basl Productions earlier this year!

summary

An Aputure 1200d through magic cloth taped to the ceiling is our key. I’ll tape it as opposed to setting up stands when I’m in a house like this to make maneuverability easier for everyone on set. A cutter keeps the key from spilling on the wall to the right of the magic cloth.

An Aputure 600d with a spotlight is popped next to the key and adds the rake on the wall for texture. I use a spotlight instead of allowing the key to serve this purpose because I get better shadows from an ellipsoidal spotlight.

A second 600d fills in the backs of our talent and provides general room fill.

Lastly, an Aputure 300d down the hallway keeps that part of the frame at the same intensity as the rest of it.
